How does Hypnosis Work?

Discover the Transformative Power of Hypnosis for Personal Growth

Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility. It’s like daydreaming or losing yourself in a captivating book, where you become fully immersed in the experience. In this state, your conscious mind takes a backseat, and your subconscious mind comes to the forefront.

Picture this: imagine your mind as an iceberg. The tip of the iceberg represents your conscious mind, the part you are aware of and use for everyday tasks and decision-making. Beneath the surface lies the vast expanse of your subconscious mind, where memories, emotions, and beliefs reside, shaping your thoughts and behaviors.

Through skillful guidance, we induce a state of deep relaxation, opening a direct channel to your subconscious. In this receptive state, we can work together to reframe negative thought patterns, tackle limiting beliefs, and instill empowering suggestions that align with your goals.

4 Stages of Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a powerful tool that can be used to achieve a variety of goals, from reducing stress to overcoming phobias. It is a state of heightened suggestibility, in which the mind is open to new ideas and experiences.

There are four stages of hypnosis:

  1. Absorption and relaxation: In this stage, the hypnotist helps the client to relax and focus their attention. This is often done through the use of calming imagery or progressive muscle relaxation.
  2. Deepening: Once the client is relaxed, the hypnotist can begin to deepen the trance state. This is done through the use of additional suggestions, such as counting down from 10 or visualizing a staircase.
  3. Suggestion: In this stage, the hypnotist gives the client suggestions for change. These suggestions can be about anything, from reducing stress to improving sleep.
  4. Emergence: Once the suggestions have been given, the hypnotist helps the client to emerge from the trance state. This is often done slowly, with the hypnotist giving the client time to adjust to being awake.
